The Vapor X700 shin guards are a great entry level shin pad with a tapered fit. Intended for mobility, Bauer incorporated lightweight foams for the agile and quick skaters.

On the X700, a thermoformed shin cap and injected knee cap provide a good level of protection for a large part of the shin guard. Medium density foams are found in the thigh protector and the calf guard which also comes equipped with a PE insert for extra protection.

To keep the shin guards feeling comfortable Bauer used a hydrophobic mesh liner which is soft to the touch and helps wick away any moisture during use.

Sizing Guidelines: Shinguards are measured best while the player is sitting. Shinguards, which are either too long or too short, will result in the knee or instep being exposed and unprotected. Shinguards should be secured with shinguard straps or tape. To fit properly:

  • Determine the level of play
  • Measure from the center of the kneecap to the top of the skate boot
  • Match the player’s shin size to the inches of shinguard
